FreeKenya started on July 2018 to tackle the issue of VAT on petroleum products and grew alongside the #FreeBobiWine Movement. On the 20th of September we made a procession to remind MPs their bosses are the people. They passed the bill anyway. So we started the People’s Referendum (No one was talking referendum then), as they reminded us that the issues of the people were not really important to them. This referendum is about making the Constitution a truly People’s Constitution.
