On December 17, 2025, the heart of Nairobi witnessed a historic moment as the FreeKenya Movement officially launched its nationwide signature collection drive. Gathered at the CBD, hundreds of patriotic Kenyans joined the movement’s leadership, led by Chairman Bob Njagi, to set in motion a popular initiative aimed at constitutional reform.

The drive seeks to gather over 1 million signatures to trigger a referendum under Article 257 of the Constitution. Our primary mission is to alleviate the “thorn in the flesh” for many Kenyans—the skyrocketing cost of living.

Key proposals championed during the launch include:

  • Taxation Reform: Abolishing taxes on 15 essential basic commodities (including maize flour, fuel, cooking gas, and electricity) to restore purchasing power to the grassroots.
  • Governance Restructuring: Enhancing the efficiency of national resources and ensuring the voices of the people are respected in policy-making.
  • Gender Parity: Addressing representation through electoral area reforms.

The activity in the CBD was not just about ink on paper; it was a loud declaration that the sovereignty belongs to the people. If you missed us in the city, you can still be part of this change by signing digitally at https://signatures.freekenya.co.ke/signature-pad1
